Here’s a new project for you to download and make! The running man uses a bead and wire mechanism to make his legs run and a pair of linkages to synchronise his arms. The overall result is this fun little character. Look at him go!

Running man!

At the rear of the model a couple of criss-crossed linkages transfer the movement from the legs making the arms move. Left leg links to right arm and right leg to left arm making a realistic running movement

The project comes as a downloadable pdf so that you can make your own! The pdf contains printable parts ready to cut out and glue together, templates for bending the paper clip wire parts and step by step instructions. Print them out and make your own running man!

The parts come as both a coloured and uncoloured version so that you can design your own running character. Paid subscribers to this newsletter can download the file at the end of this page - thank you for your support! Members of robives.com can also download the project from the robives.com website
