A #pop-up project
It was my friends birthday this week. I think home made cards are a little bit special so this is what I came up with. The butterflies are from the same photo I took the other day that I used for the cork butterfly - thank you Red Admiral!
As the card is opened the butterflies move in opposite directions making them look like they are fluttering. The background image in the card is from a suitably textured page in a magazine. The mechanism uses a couple of opposite facing triangular folds and is based on the same mechanism I used on the Comet Card. It’s interesting how versatile mechanisms can be!
The card comes in the form of a downloadable file with various parts, templates and instructions. You’ll need to add some card, coloured and white as well as a suitable backdrop cut out from an old magazine.
If you are in the mood for pop up cards you’ll enjoy these other designs available to download and make from the website.
…and via the Brother International Creative Center.
