Introducing the mk ii version of the #STEAMjunk Goose project, now with added wing movement. Turn the handle to make the goose run - and flap her wings! Honk! Honk!

Goose!

The project uses a cork as the base with a few paper clips and beads to create the mechanism. The fully illustrated instructions include the goose parts ready for you to print out and make as well as clear step by step instructions for making your own running goose.

Fully illustrated instructions

You can download the parts and instruction from robives.com or if you are a paid subscriber to this newsletter you can download the parts for the project at the end of this page.

Goose ready to attached to the mechanism

The goose’s legs are driven via a double crank folded from a jumbo paperclip. Once this has been added to the model an extra crank is folded into the end of the wire to drive the wings up and down.

The end result is this delightful goose project. Make it a decoration for your desk, as a gift for a friend or as a a fun project to make on a rainy afternoon!
