In time for Halloween I’m reposting this Running Skeleton project for you to download and make. Turn the paper clip wire handle to make the skeleton run. Use the jar as both a stand for the project and a container for tasty treats!

Running Skeleton!

The project comes as a downloadable pdf file with parts ready to print out, cut out and make as well as fully illustrated step-by-step instructions. You just need to add a few household items to make this #STEAMjunk project

Add these bits and pieces to make your skeleton.

The bones of the model are made from double thickness card with simple fold hinges for the joints. The parts are cut out and glued together and the ribs added to complete the character

Skeleton parts assembled.

The feet attach to a wire crank and the back of the body is attached to the end of zip tie, The natural springiness of the zip tie allows the body to move back and forth adding to the life of the movement.

Rear view showing the zip-tie spring.

The whole spooky movement makes a great project for this time of year. Paid subscribers to this newsletter can download the parts file from the bottom of this page - thank you so much for your support! Members of robives.com can download the file there and non-members can join in the fun for £5 or equivalent.
