International Bee Day!

Today - May 20th - is International Bee Day! Why not grab yourself a few household/maker bits and pieces and make your own flower circling bee?!

The entire project is laid out in a downloadable pdf file with easy to follow step by step instructions that you can download from www.robives.com. If you are a premium subscriber to this newsletter you can download the pdf from the foot of this page.

If you are a paid member of www.robives.com you can of course download the project there. Non members can join in the fun for £5 or equivalent

Step by step instructions.
Bee parts

The body and head of the bee are made from craft pom poms with stripes added in sharpie as appropriate. The wings are felt and the antennae made from knotted elastic cord.

The bee mechanism!

An offset wheel rolling against a circular plate makes the bee spin. Sliding the wheel side to side fine tunes the bee rotation speed in the final model.
