🌿 I'm thrilled to share that my latest creation for Brother International is now live! Introducing the Tree House Project—a free, downloadable PDF filled with printable parts to build your very own whimsical, three-story tree house.
🏡 The project is available directly from the Brother Creative Center , where you’ll also find a wide range of other paper projects to explore, many of which I’ve designed. So take a look around and discover even more crafty delights.
🌳 Each layer lifts off to reveal cozy interior rooms, ready to explore. Alongside the tree house, you’ll find a miniature set of furniture, tables, chairs, and woodland companions including owls, rabbits, and deer, all scaled to fit snugly into this playful world.
🖨️ Just print, cut, and assemble to bring this charming forest hideaway to life.
🪵 The textures on this model were a joy to create. I use Adobe Illustrator to design the paper parts, and for the tree house, I wanted the textures to feel realistically organic. I explored Ripon, where I live, and found some lovely tree bark near the cathedral as well as some suitable leafy canopies that worked well.
🌲 For the roof texture which I envisioned as a kind of rough shingle, I had to venture a bit further. Eventually, I found just the right flaky bark on a tree in the arboretum at Thorpe Perrow. After snapping photos, I sliced thin strips of bark texture in Photoshop and laid them out in the background of my tree house components, trimming them to size with clipping masks.
✨ All in all, I think they turned out rather well!
The finished tree house is available for everyone to download and make from the Brother Creative Center here. I do hope you enjoy making and playing with the tree house!
